Salamander Gallery
11.02.10
I have some work showing in the current exhibition at Salamander Gallery in Belfast. It's a relatively new gallery in a beautifully renovated Victorian church hall just off the Lisburn Road. Run by Peter Wheatley-Smith, Salamander has an eclectic mix of work on display including traditional painting, sculpture, glasswork, etchings, basketwork and contemporary ceramics.

Phoning In
28.01.10
Things have been a little bit frantic here of late. Still getting settled into the Belfast life, sorting out all the little things that you always forget about and come back to bite you on the ass. So, in lieu of something fascinating, insightful or witty to say (and in a vain bid to keep on track), here's some more pictures of snow.
Haiti Earthquake Appeal
17.01.10
Just a quick entry to say that all profits from print sales will be going to Oxfam’s Haiti Earthquake Appeal. Oxfam has long experience in Haiti and have teams working round the clock to provide clean water, shelter and sanitation.
Please visit the shop and give your support which is so urgently needed. If you don’t want a print but still want to help, please donate to the Oxfam Haiti Earthquake Response Fund.
Reclamation
14.01.10
Just a few initial ideas for 2010's personal project. Exploring a new city, abandoned buildings, nature taking over, I'm excited!
PS: There have been a few articles about personal projects recently (edit: speak of the devil, Freelance Folder just posted another one.), and the benefits they bring by stimulating creativity, getting to work with new people (and getting to help people out) and just letting you have fun with something you truly enjoy.
So as Chase says "Go make something and share it". What are you waiting for?
Mealough Reservoir
07.01.10
As most UK based folks will know we're in the middle of one of the longest cold snaps in 30 years. Whilst we've probably been spared the worst of it so far in Belfast, temperatures haven't gone much above freezing for the past couple of weeks, leading to most standing bodies of water freezing over.
There are a few reservoirs in and around Belfast and Newcastle but we were driving past Mealough* Reservoir today in a heavy freezing fog and couldn't resist heading back to grab some shots. Incidentally this is also the first time in 30 years that this reservoir has frozen over.
* Well, we normally call it The Reservoir, and it's probably got a proper official name, but for our purposes it shall be Mealough Reservoir until proven otherwise.
